Linklaters launches managing associate diploma
MAGIC-CIRCLE law firm Linklaters has announced the launch of a new training course for all lawyers being promoted to its managing associate position internationally.
Delivered through the Linklaters Law & Business School, which was launched by the firm in 2008, the ‘MA Diploma’ is designed to complement other courses the firm already runs for its new intake and those promoted to associate.
The course comprises a personal development plan, with individual targets both for attendance and
the delivery of key activities. Two “core skills programmes” are undertaken in the process, one just after promotion and another two years into the role, while other elective courses include training in skills such as negotiation, business management and business development.
Global knowledge and learning partner, Michael Voisin, said the diploma was also “distinctive” for its focus on “the firm’s knowledge activities”.
Linklaters managing partner Simon Davies commented: “We’re committed to ensuring each generation of our legal and business-services staff are learning new skills and new ways of thinking, in order to ensure we continue delivering consistent results for our clients.”
