Irwin Mitchell leader to step down
TOP-10 UK law firm Irwin Mitchell is set to find a new managing partner with the announcement that present incumbent Howard Culley is to relinquish the top role in 2009.
Culley has steered the firm’s strategic direction for the past 20 years, perhaps most notably positioning it to take advantage of the Legal Services Act 2007; an area in which he will continue to play a part until at least 2010.
He is to hand over to his successor formally in April 2009. Irwin Mitchell said the firm’s next managing partner would be chosen by December 2008.
Senior partner Michael Napier
said: “I fully understand Howard’s wish to hand over the managing partner baton and have nothing but praise for his truly magnificent contribution and business acumen, on which we will continue to draw as Irwin Mitchell prepares for the opportunities of the new legal services marketplace.”
Culley is to remain a partner at Irwin Mitchell until at least 2010.
