Law firms meet their Indian matches
REPRESENTATIVES OF 20 Indian law firms spent three days in the UK in September, learning about business opportunities and meeting their UK counterparts.
Organised by the Law Society’s International Division, events were held in London, Cambridge, Birmingham and Leeds, with 43 UK law firms of various sizes in attendance at some point. The events were designed to familiarise the Indian firms with the possibilities for Indian inward investors in each of the regions, while UK law firms were also invited to set up individual ‘matchmaking’ sessions.
The 20 Indian law firms making the trip were: ALMT, Associated Law Advisers, DH Law Associates, Fox Mandal Little, Gandhi & Associates, International Law Affiliates, Juris Consultus, Jurista Legalis, Kanga & Co, Kris & Kolloth, Malhotra & Malhotra, MLS Vani & Associates, Mundkur Law Partners, Narasappa, Doraswamy & Raja, Patnaik & Associates, R.Ginodia & Co, Rajinder Narain & Co, Singhania & Co, Singhania & Partners and Trust Legal.
Participating UK firms included Addleshaw Goddard, Bevan Brittan, Cobbetts, Dechert, Field Fisher Waterhouse, Mills & Reeve, Nabarro, Shepherd and Wedderburn, Walker Morris and Wragge & Co.
Law Society president, Paul Marsh, said the Society was also planning similar future visits “to serve Indian investors better when they are looking to do business in the UK or elsewhere in the European Union”.
